Behind the Scenes of Greenville Little Theatre's "Ragtime"

GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) - With jazz piano, lavish dresses, colliding cultures and historical figures, Greenville Little Theatre's production of "Ragtime" is bringing a taste of the early 1900s to the Upstate.

The show tells the story of three groups in America at the turn of the century: African Americans, upper-class suburbanites and Eastern European immigrants.

The characters from these three worlds are connected by those historical figures like J.P. Morgan, Booker T. Washington, Harry Houdini (who even performs a little magic in the show) and Evelyn Nesbit.

Backstage, we got a peek at the costumes, which were all hand-sewn for this production. Props included a working, original Model T automobile from the early 1900s.

Celebrated for its Tony Award-winning music, this production also stars Anderson native Delvin Choice, a past contestant on The Voice, who says this is his last local theater performance.
