It's a crime police say can happen anywhere, and Wednesday morning, it led a Florida man on a chase that ended up in the Upstate.

Ansen Brown's MySpace page has a big beat, claiming the Florida man is "world famous."  But police say Brown is a fraud.  Police claim Brown, of Hollywood, Florida, lured a 15-year-old California girl across the country.  Brown, who says he's a recording producer, promised the girl a hip hop career.  According to police, the two communicated for four months on MySpace.com, before Brown flew the girl to Florida.  She claims once she got there, he sexually assaulted her, and took off.

It wasn't until early Wednesday morning Brown turned up again in the Upstate.  Greenville Police were on routine patrol when they spotted the wanted fugitive at the Econo Lodge off Orchard Park Drive.  When the officer asked for Brown's driver's license, he realized he was a wanted man.  "He fled from Florida to who knows where. May have been short on money, hungry and short on food, and sometimes that's when people say they've had enough. I'm tired of running. You got me," says Corporal Jason Rampey.

Police in Hollywood, Florida worry this teen my not be Brown's first and only victim. "Our concern is there may in fact be other witnesses or victims out there because he was so open about promoting himself via the Internet and MySpace in particular.  That's a concern there could in fact be other juveniles out there they just have not come forward yet", said Sergeant Manny Marino.

Rampey says the arrest should be a huge reminder to local parents that this type of crime knows no state boundaries.  "We've seen this before, we've heard about it before, and it's quite scary.  This is something parents can take and learn from."

Brown is being held at the Greenville County Detention Center, awaiting extradition to Florida.
