High winds have left thousands of people without power in the Upstate Monday morning.
 
The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for Avery, Mitchell, Yancey, McDowell, buncome and Henderson counties until 6:00pm.  Winds could be 25-40 mph with some gusts more than 60mph. 
A Wind Advisory is in effect until 6:00pm for Swain, Haywood, Jackson, Macon, Transylvania, Polk, and Rutherford counties. 
A Lake Wind Advisory is in effect for the Upstate and Rabun and Habersham counties in Georgia.  That means 20-30mph winds with some gusts up to 35mph possible.

They tell us the two victims were treated at a hospital and are all right. We're told them have been overwhelmed with the number of calls reporting downed trees, limbs and branches.
 
The Highway Patrol reported numerous incidents of trees and power lines being down on roads in the Upstate during the morning commute.
