COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - James Darnell went 3-for-4 with a homer

and four RBIs, including a two-run game-winning single, to lead

South Carolina to a 6-5 win against Florida in Southeastern

Conference action Saturday.

Will Atwood (5-2) struck out seven in his first complete game to

pick up the win for the Gamecocks (32-15, 12-11 SEC). Josh

Edmondson (3-3) gave up two runs and four hits to take the loss.

The Gators (28-17, 13-10) got a two-run homer from Riley Cooper,

his first of the season, to go up 2-0 in the second. Darnell's solo

shot in the bottom of the inning cut the deficit to 2-1.

Florida took the lead 5-3 in the fourth inning on RBIs from Josh

Adams and Cole Figueroa. Justin Smoak cut the lead back to one with

an RBI double in the fifth.
