Florida State Powers Past Clemson, 13-4

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - Stuart Tapley went 3-for-4 and was one of

four Florida State players with a two-run homer as the Seminoles

beat Clemson 13-4 in Atlantic Coast Conference action.

The Tigers (24-22-1, 10-15-1 ACC) jumped out to a 1-0 lead in

Sunday's first inning, but Florida State (39-7, 21-5) took the lead

for good with a three-run second that included Tapley's homer.

Jason Stidham, Dennis Guinn and Buster Posey also hit two-run

homers and every Seminole starter tallied at least one hit. Tony

Delmonico went 3-for-4 with three RBIs.

Elih Villanueva (5-2) tossed seven strong innings, giving up

just one run on six hits while striking out five, to pick up the

win.

Tiger starter Graham Stoneburner (5-3) gave up seven runs on

seven hits in four innings to take the loss.
