When college football signees hear the term "numbers game" as their high school senior years wind down they may get the uneasy feeling that the school they plan to attend has oversigned and will need them to go to a prep school or do something called gray-shirting.

But for J.L. Mann defensive back J.T. Floyd, when he heard of a former Michigan standout discussing him on a national radio show this week the subject of numbers meant something else.
