Rapper T.I. claims wrongful arrest outside gated community

ATLANTA (AP) - A lawyer for rapper T.I. says the Grammy-winning hip hop artist never got to tell his side of the story to police who arrested after a pre-dawn attempt this week to enter his gated community near Atlanta.

T.I. was arrested early Wednesday on charges of disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and simple assault.

The rapper's attorney, Steve Sadow, says the 38-year-old performer, whose real name is Clifford Harris, was "wrongfully arrested." Police say T.I. was arrested after getting in an argument with a security guard who refused him entry to his gated neighborhood.

T.I. was released on bail after his arrest.
