WNC/Upstate (WSPA) - Severe storms will be possible through early evening in the western Carolinas, favoring eastern parts of the Upstate and Foothills in North Carolina.
The best time window on the severe threat will be until 5 p.m. Sunday.
A tornado warning is possible, so think about your safety plan throughout the day.
The other concern will be flash flooding and a flash flood watch is in effect until 8 p.m. for the counties that sit on the border of North and South Carolina.
Two to three inches of rain in these areas will cause streams and creeks to rise rapidly, while urban areas will see significant "ponding" on the roads during the heavy downpours of rain.
