A car slammed into a business and the driver was taken to the hospital. The wreck happened around 2:15am Friday morning on Easley Highway in Anderson County. A small sport utility vehicle wound up inside Comfort Zone Heating and Cooling which also is home to a real estate business.
Rescuers had to remove the woman, but say this would have been much worse if the SUV run into a home some 45 feet away. "The home is actually having a slumber party tonight. I guess an end of school slumber party. It was occupied with about 8 children and the residents of the home. Yeah, I mean, we're talking 30 feet from the house. This could have easily been a major catastrophe on our hands", said West Pelzer Firefighter Ryan Long.
Rescuers tell News Channel 7, the driver was semiconscious when they got to her in the building. The Highway Patrol is trying to figure out how the accident happened.
