On Wednesday, Buford Snoddy, a murder suspect in the death of Katherine Hedrick, was found by his brother Theodore, dead from a fatal gunshot wound.
In a call to 911, Theodore told dispatchers that his 61-year-old brother had killed himself.
The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office received the 911 call at 10:34 a.m. on Wednesday.

Thedore: “Is this 911?”
Dispatcher: “Yes,”
Thedore: “I need the Sheriff’s Office here and an ambulance up here on Willow Road”
Dispatcher: “Where on Willow Road?”
Thedore: “Buford Snoddy’s house”
Dispatcher: “What happened?”
Thedore: “Just get up here. My bother killed himself.”
Dispatcher: “How did he do that?”
Thedore: “I don’t know; he has a gun in between his legs.”
Dispatcher: “What’s your name?”
Thedore: “Theodore Snoddy”
Dispatcher: “Are you sure he’s dead?”
Thedore: “Yeah”
The murder case:
Snoddy was found dead a day before he was to appear in a Henderson County courtroom for a hearing to suppress evidence in the murder case against him.
He’s accused of killing his cousin, 47-year-old Hendrick, last year and was soon to stand trial for that murder.
Hedrick’s body was found in his home last April. The county’s case against him is now turned upside down.
“It remains to be seen what would have happened, obviously we felt like we had a strong case,” said Capt. Charles McDonald with the Henderson County Sheriffs Office.
But the case isn’t closed. Snoddy’s son was indicted as an accessory to the murder.
The case against him will continue.
