A former aide to U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham was sentenced to 18 months in prison and five years probation after she pleaded guilty to five counts of breach of trust with fraudulent intent and identity fraud Thursday morning.
Investigators said Mary Jennifer Adams obtained a credit card in Graham’s name. She was also accused of taking money from the senator’s personal accounts, Graham’s attorney said.
Judge Cordell Maddox in Oconee County said he was being lenient with Adams because she suffers from bipolar disorder.
