A Federal Grand Jury indicted 34-year old Melissa McCormick Albergotti for defrauding Medicaid.
The indictment claims Albergotti worked as a dental assistant for a school-based company, providing dental care for Medicaid-eligible children. She submitted false production reports for more than $73,000.00 in Medicaid payments. The reports showed she had done dental work for area school children, that were never performed.
Albergotti could receive a $250,000 fine and five years in prison.
