Hillcrest High Student Charged With Having Gun At School

School resource officers found an unloaded .22 caliber pistol and bullets in the glove compartment of a student’s car at Hillcrest High. The officers were investigating suspicious behavior around the car in the student parking lot, according to Greenville County Schools officials. The junior was charged by the Simpsonville City Police with having a weapon on school property. Officials say he has been suspended by the school, pending a recommendation for expulsion. No one was threatened or injured, according to school officials.
