Times are tough for Candi Fowler and her husband John.  Candi is disabled and John lost his job recently.
She says that’s going to make Christmas for their children nearly impossible.

She says, “I don’t know know how to start explaining.  They would be heartbroken and it just breaks my heart to know they would be heart broken.“

Candi says she tried going to the Salvation Army and other agencies for help but its too late.

Candi says,  “I have either missed the cut off date or they aren’t accepting anymore.“

According to the Salvation Army they already have 875 children they are helping this Christmas.  That is one hundred more than last christmas and they say they simply cannot keep up with the demand.

She says her older son understands the family is dealing with hard times.

She says, “He said just take care of the babies and don’t worry about him.“

But Candi says as a mother she’s praying angel will look out for them so her children can have at least one bright spot in these very troubled times.

She admits, “You know we have four kids its just been a long hard road.“
According to the Salvation Army, if you are applying for Christmas help you need to do it by the end of the summer because of the high number of requests they get.
They say if you are in need contact your child’s school to see if they are doing anything or call around to local churches that may be willing to help.
