Look for some big bodies to be moving into dorms on campus at Wofford College on Friday. That’s reporting day for the players for the start of the NFL team’s summer training camp in Spartanburg.

The team is scheduled to be on the field for the first time on Saturday morning. This year’s camp will be shorter than some previous years. Camp is scheduled to break on August 13. The team works out once or twice a day for periods ranging from 90 minutes to two hours.

Team Spartanburg
will celebrate the return of pro football to the Upstate on Saturday. Panthers Party 2008, presented by Academy Sports and Outdoor, the City of Spartanburg, Wofford College and Team Spartanburg Sports Council, will be held from 6:00-9:00pm Saturday, with the Panthers’ evening practice scheduled to begin at 6:40pm.

The party will feature the Top Cat cheerleaders, Sir Purr, music, contests and giveaways.
