Pedestrian Killed In Friday Night Accident

A pedestrian was struck and killed Friday night in Spartanburg.
Lance Cpl. Kathy Hiles of the South Carolina Highway Patrol said that the accident occurred around 8 p.m. Friday night on Highway 176 near Clifton-Glendale Road. The Highway Patrol says that the victim, identified as 46-year old Danny Ray Gregory, of 1940 Glenn Springs Road, Jonesville, died at the scene as he attempted to cross Highway 176.
According to the Highway Patrol, a 1993 Mazda driven by 63-year old Albert Goode of Spartanburg was heading west on Highway 176 when he struck Gregory. Goode was not injured and the Highway Patrol says the accident remains under investigation.
