The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office says Thursday morning they believe the same two robbers are behind crimes at convenience stores on consecutive nights. Investigators are trying to identify two men who assaulted clerks during robberies in Honea Path on Tuesday night and in the Sandy Springs late Wednesday night.

A total reward of $4,000 is being offered by Crime Stoppers and the owner of Stop-A-Minute in Honea Path for information. You can call Crime Stoppers at (864) 231-STOP.

Honea Path Police Chief David King says they now believe the gunman from Tuesday night’s armed robbery has a tattoo or other identifying mark on his right forearm.  They have released a photograph of a man they’re calling a person of interest in the case.

The Corner Shop Store was robbed Wednesday night at the intersection of U.S. 76 and Milwee Creek Road in the Sandy Springs community.

Deputies say two men came into the store and shot at the clerk, but missed. The robbers then attacked that worker.

Investigators went over all the evidence left behind at the scene Wednesday night and clearly marked two vehciles that now have bullet holes.

Officers tell News Channel 7, the Corner Shop Store clerk was taken to AnMed with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say surveillance video shows the robbers running inside the Honea Path store Tuesday night. One of them fired a shot into the ceiling, then hopped over the counter and lunged at Jonathan Donald, 27, who was working.

Donald is now out of the hospital.
