Suspect in Trooper Blanton’s Death to Get Hearing Friday

Judge Marlene Hyatt will hear pre-trial motions in Edwardo Wong’s murder trial Friday, according to the Haywood County Court docket at about 9:30 in Administrative Court.
Haywood County Sheriff Tom Alexander says that Wong’s attorney’s have notified him that he will not be needed for the hearing and several motions will be filed.
Wong, of Ormond Beach, Fla., is charged with first-degree murder in Trooper David Shawn Blanton Jr.’s death and one count of attempt first-degree murder. No trial date has been set.
