What is Tofurky? According to Jon Garner, owner of Garner’s Natural Foods in Spartanburg, “It’s kind of a play on tofu and turkey.“  He says it’s quite popular this time of year! “When it gets towards Thanksgiving and Christmas, people gobble ‘em up!”  It’s tofu in the shape of a turkey with a special surprise!  It comes with stuffing inside.

Melyssa Foust and her boys stopped by Garner’s just to buy a Tofurky for Aunt Vanessa. Foust says, “My sister Vanessa is a vegan, so every year, this has to be prepared or she can’t eat!”
Neither Foust nor her boys ever take a bite, but for Vanessa, it’s a celebration without stress, at least when it comes to the feast.  “She doesn’t eat anything with a face, no butter, no milk, no eggs, or anything that came from a face.“

You can purchase Tofurky (feeds 4 people) for about $15.00 at Garner’s or log on to http://www.tofurky.com for a complete list of locations and recipes!
