Accusations of shoving and a war of words as a committee of the Greenville County Council tried to meet Monday to talk about fellow council member Tony Trout.
Federal officers say Tony Trout may have used computer spyware to get information from the computer of the county administrator.
Monday a council committee was trying to meet on the issue privately when, committee members claim, Trout pushed his way into the meeting as the door was being closed on him.
He’s also accused of threatening council members in the process.
Trout told us that he is not at the center of any investigation.
He says he has a message for SLED, the Attorney General’s Office and the FBI: “Put up or shut up.“
Trout says that means authorities should either bring charges against him or leave him alone.
As for the meeting Monday, Committee Chairman Butch Kirven said they let Trout in and cancelled the meeting.
Kirven said because of the drama, there won’t be another meeting.
