A 49-year old Westminster man was killed in a Saturday morning accident in Oconee County.

Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis says that Richard Wesley Satterfield, of 9876 Long Creek Highway, died around 9 am. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Satterfield was traveling west on Highway 76 when his 1992 Chevrolet S-10 pickup went off the right side of the highway, collided with a utility pole and overturned,

Addis says that Satterfield was believed to have been in Westminster at a store and died at the scene, one mile from his home, due to neck and head trauma.
