The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office has identified the suspect they believe murdered a man in Taylors Wednesday night. Warrants have been signed for Jeffrey Ray Jennings for murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Deputies say they received tips Friday that Jennings was spotted at Kellett’s Corner on Hwy. 276 in Mauldin. The tipster said Jennings was totally clean-shaven. Deputies believe Jennings is still in the area.
The Sheriff’s Office believes Jennings is driving a yellow Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck with Tennessee plates.
Deputies were called to a home on Boling Road Wednesday night at 10:30pm because of a report to a gunshot victim who was found on a woman’s porch. Officers told News Channel 7 the man was shot multiple times.
The Greenville County Coroner’s Office identifies the man as 31-year-old Deran Marquis Jamison of 760 Boling Road.
Officers are not saying if the woman who found the man’s remains knows him or if he was actually shot at the home. Investigators have not established a motive for the killing.
Anyone with information on where Jennings can be found should call Crime Stoppers at 23-CRIME. At this point we do not have a motive for this case.
