Four schools in Anderson School District 5 started classes Thursday. Students at Nevitt Forest Elementary were some of hundreds to start the modified calendar year. It may seem like the summer is cut short, but the principal says a lot of students are ready to come back.
“The kids enjoy it. It is one of the easiest starts to school you’ll have. Kids do not get set over the summer of not getting up and coming to school, so they jump right back in the routine and are ready to come back when we start back.,“ said principal Kelly Elrod.
The school says it could be tricky for parents to adjust to the new calendar, so to be sure to check the website. The other schools in the District will start on August 19th.
