The toddler was found in a stranger’s front yard after someone who stole a SUV with the sleeping child inside dropped the 18-month old off.
The 24-year old mother, Stacey Rice, says she had just gone inside a friend’s house to drop something off and was inside for less than two minutes when her vehicle was stolen. Rice says she will never let it happen again and is eternally grateful to the man who found her son and called police.

Rice has not been charged for leaving her son in the running vehicle.
Our reporter was told by police that the level of her negligence didn’t rise to a level where they’d file charges. They felt she was truly tramautized by the event and had learned a tough lesson.
But many of you have been commenting online and even through email, saying the mother should have been charged. Police call it an honest mistake. What about you?
