Byrnes rising senior, Richard Peay, had kidney failure about a year and a half ago and just a few months shy of needing dialysis found out his uncle was a match. After both were tested, one of his uncle’s kidneys was transplanted into Richard. Now, aside from a few extra precautions, Richard is back to normal, playing sports and doing things he loves.  As a matter of fact, later this month, Richard is going to compete in the U.S. Transplant Games in Pittsburgh.  To find out more about kidney translplants click this website: http://www.kidneysc.org or if you want to find out more about becoming a donor, you can check out this website: http://www.lifepoint-sc.org.
