With upper-level high pressure sitting over us through the rest of the workweek, expect a few days of true summertime heat. Enough moisture will be trapped under the ridge of high pressure to present a chance for isolated to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms. The Upstate will see less of this than the mountains; there are many areas that will remain dry.
A weak cold front approaches for the weekend. This will take some edge off the heat, although we should remain very warm. This will also boost our storm chances a bit; not looking like a washout right now, but more of us will be getting into a chance of seeing some scattered storms.
