Spartanburg County deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery Sunday morning at 2250 Pecan Drive. The deputies say they spoke with the victim who told them that a female he knows as “Amanda” and two males, one of who he knows only as “Low” entered the residence. An incident reports says once the males were inside the home they began to demand money from the victim. Deputies say the victim went on to state that “Low” began to strike him with a machete. The victim told deputies he broke a window out of the residence in order to escape and run to a neighbor’s house for help.

The sheriff's office says no one at the residence provided them with any helpful information about this incident. Investigators discovered a machete under the back porch of the incident location. The victim was treated by EMS for his injuries.
Serena Leigh Hall was arrested and charged with assault and battery with intent to kill, armed robbery and kidnapping.
Hall is currently at the Spartanburg County Detention Center on $50,000 bond.

Dozens of drivers have filed complaints with the South Carolina Department of Transportation over loose gravel along a stretch of I-85. Officials said the complaints, which topped out at between 6 and 8 per day last week, stem from gravel that's damaged vehicles between Highway 14 and 129, where crews are working on a two-year-long resurfacing project.
