The Greenville County Sheriff's Office has charged a man for pouring gasoline on a woman and then setting her on fire.

Deputies responded to West Georgia Road in Piedmont on Saturday morning for a report of a woman on being on fire and screaming.

When EMS arrived she was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital. She had burns all over her body so she was taken to the Grady Memorial Hospital in GA.

Officials say that investigators found evidence of a burglary and they believe that the assault began at home.

Harold Watts was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder and Burglary 1st Degree.

The Sheriff's Office says they believe this was not a random act that the victim and suspect knew one another.
