GREENVILLE, S.C. -- A trip to LSU and home regular season finale against Upstate foe Wofford highlight Furman’s 12-game 2013 football schedule, which was released today by director of athletics Gary Clark.

Furman will play LSU on Oct. 26 in the first meeting on the football field between the Paladins and Tigers.

Furman’s Nov. 23 contest against Wofford will mark the Paladins’ third regular season finale with the Terriers since 2008.  Furman claimed a 58-21 win in Greenville in 2009 the last time the long-time foes faced off in a season ending clash.  The Paladins hold a 51-28-7 lead in the series, which began in 1889 and is the oldest in state history.

The Paladins kick off the campaign with two road games, an Aug. 31 clash at Gardner-Webb and Sept. 7 game at Coastal Carolina, before returning home to take on Presbyterian on Sept. 14 in the first of five contests in Paladin Stadium in 2013.

Furman opens Southern Conference play on Sept. 28 at arch-rival The Citadel.

Elon will provide the opposition on Family Weekend, set for Oct. 5 at 1:30 p.m., before the Paladins begin a rugged four-game stretch that includes an Oct. 12 road game at Chattanooga, an Oct. 19 home date versus Appalachian State, Oct. 26 contest at LSU, and road contest at Georgia Southern on Nov. 2.

On Nov. 9 Samford will provide Homecoming Weekend opposition in a 1:30 p.m. meeting at Paladin Stadium, and the following Saturday (Nov. 16) Furman will make the trip to Cullowhee, N.C., to take on Western Carolina before returning home to face Wofford on Nov. 23.

Kickoff times for all games other than Family Weekend and Homecoming contests will be announced later.

Furman is coached by Bruce Fowler, who will be entering his third season at the helm this fall.
