Ten of the people who pleaded guilty to an Upstate mail theft ring were sentenced in court Tuesday.

The defendants who were sentenced include:

Lora M Berry, age 32, of Gaffney, was sentenced to 36 months imprisonment and ordered to pay $77,845 in restitution;

- Paul Huskey, age 32, of Spartanburg, was sentenced to 46 months imprisonment and ordered to pay $77,845 in restitution;

- Stacey E McCrary, age 33, of  Inman, was sentenced to 60 months imprisonment and ordered to pay $77,845 in restitution;

- Joshua P Hodge , age 31,  of Spartanburg, was sentenced to 60 months imprisonment and ordered to pay $77,845 in restitution;  

- Nicki N Heffner-Minnix, age 28, of Gaffney, SC, was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment and ordered to pay $28,000 in restitution;

- Randall T Cantrell, age 33, of Chesnee, was sentenced to 15 months imprisonment and ordered to pay $28,000 in restitution;

- David L Ward, age 37, of Memphis, TN, was sentenced to 37 months imprisonment and ordered to pay $28,0000 in restitution;

- Susan B Abernathy, age 29, of Blacksburg, was sentenced to 26 months imprisonment and ordered to pay $1,400 in restitution;

- Lisa Mullinax, age 23, of Gaffney, was sentenced to four years of probation and ordered to pay $900 in restitution;

- Christopher D Richardson, age 37, of Blacksburg, was sentenced to five years of probation and ordered to pay $3000 in restitution. 

Investigators say the defendants stole mail, altered checks, and made counterfeit checks based on the personal information that was taken between May 2011 and December 2012.

Thirteen people accused in a mail theft ring pleaded guilty in federal court in Greenville Wednesday.

According to a news release, the following defendants pleaded to conspiracy to commit mail theft charges:

-Tasha N. Rendon, age 35, of Gaffney

-Lora M. Berry, age 33, of Gaffney

-Jennifer A. Kingrey, age 37, of Moore

-Paula R. Huskey, age 33, of Gaffney

-Stacey E. McCrary, age 33, of Inman

-Kasie N. Tessnear, age 24, of Spartanburg

-Randall T. Cantrell, age 33, of Spartanburg

-Curtis Glenn Sewell, age 36, of Moore

-Justin Mullinax, age 25, of Gaffney

-Lisa Mullinax, age 25, of Gaffney

-Christopher D. Richardson, age 38, of Blacksburg

-Aaron B. Williams, age 40, of Roebuck

Sentencing will take place following a review period.  Each defendant faces a maximum penalty of $250,000 and/or 5 years behind bars.

Officials in Laurens County say they have busted a theft ring spanning two counties and involving at least eight crimes.

The Laurens County Sheriff's Office arrested six people in connection to the ring.  Investigators say they are responsible for at least five burglaries and larcenies and Laurens County and three in Newberry County.

Those arrested include:

- Joshua Holland Kelly, 23, charged with 2 counts of Burglary Second Degree, 1 count of Grand Larceny and 1 count of Accessory After the Fact

- Dylan Blake Cash, 17, of 5430 Whitmire Highway in Clinton who is charged with Grand Larceny and Accessory After the Fact

- James Edward Franklin, 18, of 411 Browning Ave. in Joanna who is charged with 2 counts of Burglary Second Degree, and 2 counts of Grand Larceny;

- Charles Alexander Woodard, 19, of 91 Sunset Blvd. in Clinton who is charged with Burglary Second Degree, 2 counts of Grand Larceny and Accessory After the Fact;

- James Darrin Woodard, 22, of 19306 Hwy 221 N in Laurens who is charged with 3 counts of Burglary Second Degree, 3 counts of Grand Larceny and 1 count of Obtaining Goods Under False Pretenses;

- Daniel Dillon Barker, 19, of 31 Janie Martin Rd. in Ware Shoals is charged with 2 counts of Grand Larceny and Accessory After the Fact

Officials say some of the stolen property has been recovered.

Investigators continue their investigation.  The six suspects are being held at the Johnson Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
