Sterling School's First LEGO League Team Applies for Patent

GREENVILLE, S.C. -

Some Upstate students are hoping to get a patent for a project they created for a recent LEGO League competition.

Sterling School's Blazing Blocks-Reloaded LEGO League team was required to invent something to improve the lives of senior citizens. To do that, they interviewed several seniors and a medical supply representative.

Afterwards, they invented the "Omni-Wheel Walker." It's designed to improve stability for its users. Judges at the First LEGO League (FLL) competition were impressed, recommending the team patent their invention.

So students are doing just that. They've submitted a Provisional Application for Patent. The team has also interviewed a patent attorney to learn more about the process and created a website for their invention.
