Several South Carolina schools will receive a grant to help train up-and-coming firefighters.
Members of the South Carolina State Firefighters' Association are scheduled to be at the Anderson School District 1 & 2 Career and Technology Center Thursday morning. They will present a $7,500 grant check to the district for scholarship in the firefighting technology program.
The money is part of a federal grant program that promotes firefighter training, recruitment and retention. Five other similar programs throughout South Carolina will also receive money from this grant program.
