The Asheville Fire Department says a woman died Sunday evening, two days after fire burned a condo.
AFD crews were called to the home at at 410 Windswept Dr. at around 11:30 a.m. on March 8. Approximately 30 firefighters responded to the fire at the four-unit condo.
Firefighters found a woman inside and got her to Buncombe County EMS which took her to a local hospital. No other injuries were reported.
The roof of that partially collapsed while suffering heavy damage. Other condo units suffered smoke damage.
The Asheville Fire Department reports the victim died Sunday night. Her name hasn't been released.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
