Former Spartanburg Coroner Passes Away Wednesday

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -

Former Spartanburg County Coroner Jim Burnett passed away Wednesday morning.

Burnett died from natural causes at 6:00 a.m. according to the Spartanburg County Coroner's Office.

In addition to his duties as coroner in Spartanburg County, Burnett was a member of an elite federal disaster team that responded to natural disasters around the world.

He also served as a technical advisor on the 1999 movie Random Hearts.
