It looks like it's not the end for an iconic Greenville restaurant after all.

The owner of Greenville's Clock restaurant tells us that a deal has been worked out, although nothing is on paper yet.  He tells 7 On Your Side it's a five year agreement.

The restaurant was set to close at the end of March because a recent rent increase put a strain on the business.

The owner tells us news of the closing brought in a surge of customers.

A Greenville landmark is set to close at the end of this month.

The Clock Drive-In at 1844 Wade Hampton Boulevard is set to close on March 31. 7 On Your Side's Rachel Kent spoke to one of the store's owners who stated that due to a recent raise in rent, the store is no longer able to operate at the intersection of Wade Hampton Boulevard and N. Pleasantburg Drive.

The restaurant opened in 1953 and is known for its large clock tower in front of the drive-in. The owner said that they hope to reopen in another location.
