ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. -
Anderson District 1 Superintendent Dr. Wayne Fowler said Friday morning they have decided to closed Wren Elementary, Middle, and High Schools due to a power outage caused by nearby accident.
Drivers were warned to expect traffic delays near Wren High School in Anderson County while crews cleaned up downed power lines from an earlier accident. The lines were down at SC-86 and Wigington Road. Power has since been restored.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the wreck happened around 5 a.m. when the car 19-year-old Kenneth Ray Lawson, of Clinton, ran off the road hitting a utility pole, fence, and tree.
Lawson and two passengers were wearing seatbelts and taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Lawson has been charged with driving too fast for conditions.
