GREENVILLE, S.C. -

Upstate animals are hoping the luck of the Irish is with them this weekend, as they look for a good home.

Greenville County Animal Care Services hosted a Saint PETrick's Day Adopt-a-thon Saturday. Adopters were able to adopt animals at a discounted rate of $7.

Spring is one of the busiest times of the year for the shelter. This weekend's adopt-a-thon event will help free up space so the shelter can make room for the new animals they'll be taking in.

If you missed out, you can still adopt an animal at the Greenville County Animal Care Services at 328 Furman Hall Road.
