GREENVILLE, S.C. -

The Greenville Hospital System is getting a new name.

It will now be known as the Greenville Health System. Officials say the organization has become more than just a hospital in the last century. They hope this new name will reflect who they are now and where they're headed.

The Greenville Health System is a highly integrated delivery system, committed to transforming the delivery of health care and improving the health of the community.

It provides the following services:

  • Inpatient care at five hospitals in the Upstate
  • Outpatient care at more than 150 locations across the Upstate
  • Continuing medical education to more than 9,000 medical students, graduate medical students, allied health, nursing, and community physicians each year

The Greenville Health System also conducts clinical research and partners with other groups and organizations in the community to improve economic and health conditions across the Upstate.
