HENDERSON COUNTY, N.C. -

A man wanted for the murder of a woman in Orlando, Florida on Sunday has been captured in Henderson County.

Master Deputy Kevin Bobo of the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office said that the Henderson County Sheriff's Office took 23-year-old Ryan Doyle, of Orlando, into custody as a fugitive from justice. According to Florida authorities, Doyle killed Lora Fischer, 25, Saturday night and her body was found in her Orlando apartment around 10 p.m. Sunday.

Bobo stated that Doyle has been cooperative with North Carolina authorities and has confessed to the murder. Authorities say that Fischer fled Florida after the murder and was attempting to traveling back roads in an attempt to make it to Kentucky to meet up with relatives.

According to Bobo, Doyle was in Spartanburg County on Highway 11 between midnight and 1 a.m. Monday morning. Doyle shot himself in the shoulder with a small, black semi-automatic .380 pistol that is believed to be the murder weapon, and threw it out the driver's side window. After going to a hospital emergency room in Henderson County at 1:30 a.m., Doyle told hospital staff a story about how he received the gunshot wound and investigators from Henderson County were called.

According to Bobo, Doyle told Henderson County authorities that he was not able to throw the gun far due to his injury, but he did hear it skid on the Highway. Deputies from the Spartanburg County and Henderson County sheriff's offices have unsuccessfully searched the area of Highway 11 between Burnt Chimney and Prison Camp Road in an effort to locate the weapon without success.

They are asking that if anyone has seen or found the gun that they contact the Henderson County Sheriff's Office at (828) 694-3173 or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
