UPDATE: UNC Asheville Police Searching For Armed Robbers

ASHEVILLE, N.C. -

 

Two persons of interest were located, but no arrests have been made after a UNC Asheville student was robbed Wednesday night on campus.

The UNC Asheville Police Department says the robbery happened in parking lot P26, near Zeis Hall. The student was not injured.

The victim says two men approached her vehicle in parking lot P26. The men stood on each side of the car and one had a gun. One man climbed into her car, took her wallet and cell phone and the robbers left through a wooded area towards W.T. Weaver Blvd.

UNC Asheville Police say two subjects of interest were located last night at Washington and Hillside Avenue, but no arrests have been made.

UNC Asheville says an alert was placed on the university website last night and the Bulldog Alert system to sent the message to students, faculty and staff, via phone, text and email.
