An Upstate trail is expanding to make room for more cyclists and walkers.
Greenville County leaders announced today they plan to expand the Swamp Rabbit Trail in Travelers Rest. Whether its cycling enthusiasts or families looking to enjoy the outdoors, the trail has become one of the most popular attractions at Gateway Park.
The expansion is a partnership between the county and city, along with Greenville's Recreation Department and the Greenville Health System. They're working on much more than expanding the Swamp Rabbit Trail.
Plans for a "Cyclebration" is also set for next month to support future improvements and expansion of the growing network of trails in the area. There are plans for a new bike skills park to open this spring, too.
