Kindergartners at Hendrix Elementary have new socks and shoes, thanks to a group of local high school students.
The Boiling Springs High School Future Business Leaders of America held their first "Kick for Kids" event Thursday. The group handed out more than 207 pairs of socks and shoes to kindergartners.
ADIDAS and CH2M Hill Lockwood Greene donated the shoes.
"It feels good because I'm blessed," said Chris Kirby, a FBLA member at Boiling Springs High School. "I love it because I love helping people, it's just my character. Seeing these kids, their smiling, laughing and having a great time, it really touched my heart.
The FBLA are planning similar events for the future.
