Spartanburg Methodist College One Game From Championship

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -

While there are no undefeated basketball teams in the NCAA Tournament, there is one in the Upstate.

Second-ranked Spartanburg Methodist College took their 32-0 record to the NJCAA Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas and the college is holding a viewing party tonight for their semifinal game.

The Pioneers narrowly avoided an upset against Kilgore College in their first game before cruising by East Georgia State in the quarterfinals.

SMC is now the highest ranked team remaining as top-ranked Iowa Central Community College was knocked out by Northwest Florida State Thursday.

The Pioneers take on the College of Central Florida Friday night at 9:00 p.m.

If they win, they will play the winner of the other semifinal Saturday night.  Should they fall tonight they will play the loser of the other semifinal tomorrow evening.
