Anderson Boss Wins $200K In Lottery, Rewards Employee

ANDERSON, SC -

Here's a nomination for the best boss in Anderson.

A restaurant manager is giving $10,000 of the $200,000 he won in an instant lottery game after sending the worker to buy tickets.

Derek Ward won the money from tickets bought at the Quick Stop FoodMart on Clemson Blvd. in Anderson last Thursday.

The two men started scratching off the tickets during a break when they came across the big winner in the Crazy Wild 10s game.

"I told him if I win, I'd take care of him," said Ward in a statement from the South Carolina Education Lottery. "I'm just happy I can help him out."

Ward gave his friend the day off to enjoy with his girlfriend. The boss planned to celebrate later with a round of golf.
