School Bus Driver Falls Asleep At The Wheel

An Anderson County school bus was involved in an accident Tuesday morning, but no injuries have been reported.

The District 5 bus was involved in the accident around 8:30 a.m. at Highway 28 and Murray Avenue.
 
According to the SC Highway Patrol, school bus driver 31-year-old Jason Scott McClain fell asleep at the wheel and ran into the back of an 18-wheeler. Authorities cited McClain for driving too fast for conditions.

Superintendent Betty Bagley says four students from Varennes Academy were on the bus, but no one was hurt.
