Skateboarder Struck By Vehicle In City Of Clemson

A man on a skateboard was injured after being struck by a vehicle in Clemson Tuesday afternoon.

Major Karry Walker of the Clemson Police Department said that the accident happened at 1:19 p.m. on Elm Street. According to Walker, a person on a skateboard was exiting from Riverbank Commons Apartments onto Elm Street when he rode into the path of the vehicle and was struck. 

After receiving a 911 call, Clemson City Police officers arrived and found the skateboarder on the side of the road suffering from injuries. The skateboarder was transported to a nearby hospital where his condition was not immediately available.

The accident remains under investigation by the Clemson Police Department's Reconstruction Unit and being assisted by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
