Five Verizon Wireless Towers Damaged By Thefts In Greenville County

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. -

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office is investigating five thefts of copper wire from cell towers across the southern part of the area.

Ground bars and copper ground cable were taken from Verizon Wireless and AT&T cell towers causing an estimated $6,200 in damage.

The thefts happened between 8:00 a.m. on March 20 and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The materials were taken from Verizon Wireless and AT&T towers on Collins Road and Bracken Road in Piedmont, Neely Ferry Road and Highway 418 in Simpsonville and Union Church Road in Greenville. 

Anyone with information regarding these thefts are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 23-CRIME.
