SPARTANBURG, S.C. -

Cool weather continues in the Upstate and western North Carolina.

Storm Team 7 forecasters say Wednesday will be sunny with highs in the low 50s in the Upstate and mostly cloudy with a chance for snow in the Mountains.  Highs there will stay around 40 degrees, according to Meteorologist Malachi Rodgers.

A freeze warning has been issued for overnight Wednesday by the National Weather Service for most of the Upstate and eastern counties in western North Carolina.  It goes into effect at midnight and expires Thursday morning.

Expected freezing temperatures could damage tender vegetation or even kill crops and other sensitive plants.

Rodgers says temperatures could dip to around 31 in the Upstate and as low as 26 in the mountains overnight.

Remember to rely on Storm Team 7 anytime, anywhere.
