Greenwood Woman Accused Of Stabbing And Throwing Away Man's Prosthetic Leg

Posted: Updated:

Investigators with the Greenwood Police Department arrested a woman on Monday, charging her with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.

They say the incident happened on South Hospital Street.

Authorities say when they arrived at the home they found the boyfriend of Michelle Thomas suffering from stab wounds to his hands and thigh. They say the stabbing stemmed from an argument over cigarettes.

Thomas told investigators during the argument her boyfriend hit her in her head with his closed fist. She ran to the kitchen and pulled out a knife. She says that she warned her boyfriend not to hit her again, and she started swinging the knife when he approached her.

Investigators say during the fight Thomas pulled off her boyfriend's prosthetic leg and threw it out the door so he couldn't chase after her.

Authorities took Thomas into custody, and paramedics transported her boyfriend to the hospital. They say his injuries are not life-threatening.
