ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. -

As you were driving around Anderson County Wednesday, you may have noticed flags at half staff.

The county lowered the flags to honor Wallace Shaw.

The former Belton City Council member was laid to rest Wednesday.

The 82-year-old died Sunday after struggling with health problems.

A special election will be held in Ward 4 to find someone to finish out the remainder of Shaw's term, which is set to expire in 2014.
